Studio Series 2025

Sunnyvale Community Players and The Pear Theatre are proud to announce a call for submissions to Studio Series 2025 - a training program for new directors from historically excluded backgrounds to grow and develop their skills under the mentorship of seasoned professionals. Our Studio Series 2025 directing production will be Tick, Tick… Boom! by Jonathan Larson.

THE OPPORTUNITY
One candidate will be chosen to direct a production of Tick, Tick… Boom! by Jonathan Larson at The Pear Theatre as a part of a mentorship process with Artistic Directors Thomas Times and Sinjin Jones. The chosen candidate will shadow both Artistic Directors as they direct productions at The Pear and Sunnyvale Community Players while preparing and directing their own production, with significant guidance every step of the way. The chosen candidate will need to have availability in early November through late December.

Upon completion of the mentorship program, the chosen candidate will have priority consideration for directing projects in the respective theatre’s following season.
