Pear Seeds SUmmer 2022
The Pear Theatre's Seeds Summer Camp, with support from Dragon Theatre's Youth Performance Conservatory, presents a theatre summer camp collaboration bonanza! In this full day camp, participants spend mornings exploring varying theatre disciplines and developing their skill sets through games and exercises. These include a focus on acting, where participants work on character building, improv, text work, and stage presence, in addition to technical theatre disciplines and all the fun involved in producing a show. The afternoons are dedicated to rehearsing a production that will be performed twice on the final Friday of the session, with a matinee at 11:00am and an early evening performance at 5:00pm.

June 27th, 2022 - July 15th, 2022
Monday - Friday: 9am - 4pm
Performance: July 15th, 11am and 5pm
COST: $800, 50% off for students who qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch, payment plans available
Where the Sidewalk Ends and Seuss Begins - during this first three week session, we explore games and exercises themed to poetry finding your voice in the morning. In the afternoon we work on our incredible production - an adventure inspired by the worlds of Shel Silverstein and Dr. Seuss.

The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe - in the morning, we explore games and exercises themed to adventure and exploring new worlds. In the afternoons, we work on our incredible production - an adaptation of the classic story heavy on movement and adventure.

9:30-12:00 Theatre games and exercises (acting, text work, character building, improv, stage presence, etc)
12:00-12:45 Lunch (bring your own, nut-free)
12:45-3:30 Production-specific activities (lines, blocking, putting on a show)
3:30-4:00 Closing circle
Sinjin Jones
Sinjin Jones (he/him) is the Executive Artistic Director of The Pear Theatre. Before moving to California, Sinjin taught elementary theatre, visual art, and music for 5 years, coached teachers in theatre, dance, music, and visual art, and then moved up to high school. At the high school level, Sinjin ran a high school theatre program for 2 years and was honorable mention for the 2019 Tony’s Excellence in Education Award. Sinjin has directed over 20 youth productions and has developed curriculum for a wide range of purposes.
Rachel Bratt
Rachel Bratt (she/her) is delighted to return to her “roots” with Pear Seeds this summer! Youth theatre that seeks to educate and enrich the lives of children is Rachel’s passion. A recent graduate of SF State with a BA in Liberal Studies and minors in Theatre Arts and Education, she is currently the Education Director at The Pear Theatre and the Drama Director at two Stratford Middle School campuses She has also had the privilege of teaching theatre at Los Altos Youth Theatre, Sunnyvale Middle School, and Chrysalis Youth Theatre.
