Welcome to Pear Seeds! Our mission is to allow students from all backgrounds to experience live theatre and what it means to make a career in the arts!

About

"Let your creativity flood the page *and* the stage as you create and perform your very own play! Work together with fellow campers to write a play about dragons, aliens, yogurt, or anything you choose!

Then learn how to transform your written word for the stage, as you work together to direct and rehearse. Final performances for friends and family take place Friday at 4:00.

Weekly schedule:

Monday - Icebreakers and classic theatre games! Get to know your collaborators and start brainstorming ideas.

Tuesday - Script writing boot camp!

Wednesday and Thursday - Rehearse rehearse rehearse! Create and add costumes and props.

Friday - Finishing touches and final performance!

Frankenstein

A new adaptation from The Pear Playwrights’ Guild

About the show:
Frankenstein
tells the story of gifted scientist Victor Frankenstein who succeeds in giving life to a being of his own creation. However, this is not the perfect specimen he imagines that it will be, but rather a hideous creature who is rejected by Victor and mankind in general. The Monster seeks its revenge through murder and terror.

In this adaptation, we explore the depths of the search for community

Opening Night: Saturday, February 4th at 8:00 pm.

Show Run: February 4th - February 26, 2023. Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm. Two special Thursday evening shows on February 9th and February 23rd at 7:30 pm.

Dontrell, Who Kissed The Sea

About the show:
Eighteen-year-old Dontrell Jones the Third decides that it is his duty and destiny to venture into the Atlantic Ocean in search of an ancestor lost during the Middle Passage. But his family is not at all ready to abandon its prized son to the waters of a mysterious and haunting past.

Blending poetry, humor, wordplay, and ritual, Dontrell, Who Kissed the Sea is a present-day hero’s quest exploring the lengths and depths we must go to redeem history’s wrongs.

Opening Night: Friday, February 3rd at 8:00 pm.

Show Run: February 3rd - February 25th, 2023. Fridays at 8:00 pm and Saturdays at 2:00 pm. One special Thursday evening show on February 16th at 7:30 pm.
